What do migraines feel like?
Migraines are often described as intense, throbbing headaches, typically felt on one side of the head. However, they can present with a variety of symptoms, which can differ from person to person. Common symptoms of a migraine include:
- Headache
- Sensitivity to Light and Sound
- Nausea and Vomiting
- Visual Disturbances: some people may experience visual disturbances known as an aura before or during a migraine attack. These can manifest as flashing lights, zigzag lines, blind spots, or other visual anomalies.
- Fatigue and Weakness
- Difficulty Concentrating
- Dizziness
Not all migraines sufferers experience every symptom, and the severity and duration of symptoms can vary from person to person, and from one migraine episode to another.
Overall, migraines can cause significant discomfort and disruption to daily life, impacting a person’s ability to work, study, care for children or engage in other normal activities.
